weene85 SG I have stopped learning guitar like for almost a year. So now wanna go back to learn...Previously I learned guitar in Yamaha...wah..really can't stand the teacher.. He was like blurping thru'out the whole lesson and everytime came in late for class and let us out early...so in the end the 1 hour lesson became around 20mins...Argh..waste my money! Hmmz...so anyone got any idea which music sch is good?..good teachers and environment...heez! Thanks Lotsa! [/quote]
xking SG If U wanna learn how to play pop guitar can try Hark Music. Not so much on theory but teaches U styles and technique more. Lessons are not dry N dull. N U get to play songs that U like. Perfomances once in a while plus other facilities. The environment is quite good. Mayb ex bit but i think ok.
Aulf SG Am learning acoustic guitar at Yamaha Contempo at PS ... or u can try the classical guitar or strum & sing course at Yamaha ... Yamaha slightly more ex ... but teacher well qualified and facilities quite good...
weene85 SG Hey..thx thx... ..but how much u paid for the guitar lesson in Hark? Oso what's the diff between classical guitar and acoustic guitar? Haha..ignorant! I can attend classical guitar or strum & sing course even when i'm only a beginner?
weene85 SG yea..haix...Hard Luck for me...cos I went to Yamaha in Hougang. Students slowly leaving the lesson as days passed..haha!
coolger03 SG maybe u can check out sound of music forum.... they did talk abt some music school for vocal training, but i'm sure they also have guitar lessons too...
yunzhongzi SG maybe u wanna let us know how much u are intending to pay for the music / guitar lesson?
weene85 SG preferably less than 15 bucks per 1 hour lesson? cos im still a beginner mah! any bargains?! heez btw how much does it cost for a personal trainer? *curious*
weene85 SG thx coolger03...got quite a few tips for guitar at tt sound of music forum! Kopiosatu...how come music schools not good?..because they're conducted in groups?
weene85 SG so do u know how much can i find a guitar class that is less than 15 bucks per hour lesson?
yunzhongzi SG dun really understand ur qn... but say if u r looking out for a guitar class for less then 15 bucks per hour, that would add up to be ard $60 bucks per month (if one lesson is given per week)... not too sure if there's anything ard this rate.. but u can try The Ark Lounge aka. Muchuan.. the fees are ard $80 for beginner and lessons are on every saturday afternoon.. Cheers
Aulf SG Used to have a colleague who sings there fortnightly ....heard Mu Chuan moved out from their Apollo Ctr location .... know whr they are now ?
yunzhongzi SG They are still ard at Apollo Ctr (just some revamping done) and now they are having a new outlet at Carpenter street, ard SAFRA town club... BTW, what's the name of ur colleague who sang there, can I know? Thx.. Cheers
Aulf SG Her Fang ... u know her ? do u go Mu Chuan often ? heard the biz is quite bad nowadays ... maybe shld form an outing to go patronize ... some of the perfomances I've seen are really quite good ...
yunzhongzi SG She always sings with Yu Xuan one isit? .. yeah business kinda bad nowadays coz lesser pple fancy unplugged music... Maybe u could organise an outing for the forumites to support them( haven been there for ages liaoz.. would like to pay them a visit too) ... They have quite a number of good singers nowadays, so maybe u would wanna really consider about this??? Cheers
